The brief: open the room to the living area, bring in as much natural light as possible and create a calm, contemporary space that still feels warm in the middle of winter.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Strata reorganised the floor plan around a monolithic island in pale stone, aligned with the large window framing the landscape.
Tall storage in matte white lacquer disappears into the walls, while a band of warm oak runs horizontally to link kitchen, dining and living. Appliances are fully integrated, handles are reduced to discreet shadow gaps, and a continuous microcement floor visually connects the whole level.
Indirect lighting under shelves and within niches replaces overhead glare, making the kitchen feel soft and inviting from early morning to late evening. The result is a quiet, generous room where cooking, working and entertaining naturally overlap — a contemporary heart of the house anchored in its alpine context.
